‘Winning Numbers’ exhibition at Petersen Automotive Museum

The Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles is one of the most remarkable museums dedicated for machines on the wheels. Inside you can find exhibits ranging from historical models to futuristic concepts with new collections arriving frequently. The museum is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year and for the occasion, it will exhibit a selection of co-founder Bruce Meyer’s race car collection.

Titled Winning Numbers: The First, The Fastest, The Famous. The exhibition comprises just 11 competition cars, but all of them are iconic. Each car displayed is full of history such as winning significant races or was owned infamous. The lineup includes, the 1957 Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa – described as “the most winning Ferrari of all time” and Le Mans Class Winner, the Ferrari 250GT SWB will also be present. There’s also the very first production Shelby Cobra, CSX2001 from 1962, the 1929 Ford ‘747’ Bonneville racer which Meyer sat inside to hit 204mph on Utah salt flats, as well as the 1962 Greer Black Prudhomme dragster created by Don Prudhomme that has won 237 drag races.

The museum will host a launch event on 22 February evening and the exhibition will be open to public from 23 February to 19 January 2020, so there’s plenty of time to plan your visit.
