Mutual Effort
Public School x TUMI 2015 Capsule Collection

In recent years, traditional fashion brands have embraced collaborations. From Junichi Abe of Kolor buddying with adidas to Moncler’s Gamme Bleu collection with American designer Thom Browne, fashion brands tap high-profile fashion designers and artists for collaborative projects. Not only It helps to bring innovations and consumer frenzy, the fashion brands also want the fashion designers to add their distinctive touch to products and create something that will attract a wider range of consumers.

Fashion collaborations are getting bigger and more by each season. The latest brand collaboration between premium lifestyle and luggage brand TUMI and contemporary fashion brand Public school is definitely one of the fashion collaborations that should not be missed. In the past, business travellers were considered as fusty, but as time went on, they have become more concerned with their appearances. They believe the items they use, whether it’s a clothing item, mobile phone or other accessories, reflect their personality and social status. In attempt to enhance the user experience, the brands’ collaborative effort adds a bit of edge and style to the otherwise simply versatile accessory.

Created by the designers of Public School Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne, this capsule collection consists of 5 pieces – a 20” carry-on and a 24” check-in wheeled bag, a travel satchel, a backpack and a travel kit. The suitcases are executed in TUMI’s own Tegris material and decorated in black graphite with a laser-cut netting overlay, creating a weave pattern effect on the exterior of the cases. Undoubtedly, the collection incorporates the contemporary design aesthetics of Public School with the ultimate functionality of TUMI’s advanced technology.

The capsule collection will be available at global TUMI stores starting this September.
