Lamborghini SC18

Lamborghini just launched its first ever one-off special model created by its motorsport division Squadra Corse. Based on the Aventador, the SC18 is road legal but designed mainly for use on the track, featuring specifically developed extreme aerodynamics derived from the racing team’s experiences.

The air intakes on the hood are in the style of the Huracán GT3 EVO, while sides and rear fenders, fins and airscoops are inspired by the Huracán Super Trofeo EVO. At the rear a large carbon fibre wing at with three mechanical adjustments generates the optimal downforce, and 12 air intakes are pressed into the rear hood to improve the cooling of the V12 engine, which is a tested solution on endurance races.

The SC18 is powered by a 6.5-litre V12 that produces 770 hp and 720 Nm of torque, all handled via  an optimised seven-speed ISR gearbox. Ultralight materials and the new carbon fibre body help reducing the weight. The grey, black and red look is completed with 20” wheels on the front and 21” on the rear paired with bespoke Pirelli P Zero Corsa tyres.

With such an alluring debut, it would be tempting for many enthusiastic Lamborghini motorsport customers to follow the footstep and request to personalise their road-going race cars from Squadra Corse.
