Bulgarian tuner Vilner recently received a special request from a London-based customer to add personal touches to his Mercedes-Benz G55 AMG’s interior that imparted the quality and feel of the new G 650 Maybach Landaulet.
Vilner’s remake began with a perforated “G” centred in a chessboard pattern throughout the cabin honouring owner’s love of chess. Next, the luxurious Soft Cocoa Brown-Orange leather covering most of the interior reflects his love for “Ritter Sport” chocolate. The few remaining black leather areas also feature that same soft-brown coloured stitching for subtle contrast.
The reworked steering wheel combines an ergonomically-shaped black piano lacquer wheel ring complemented with plenty of thick leather. Additional premium sound deadening is widely used in some significant areas throughout the body to achieve a “Maybach-level” of quiet.
The car’s exterior also received some Vilner touches such as the matte black wrap complete with Vilner’s smartly understated chrome signature. The custom G55 retains the 5.5-litre supercharged V-8 engine that delivers 476 horsepower and 699.6 Nm of torque.
