Ferrari Designs Office Chair for Poltrona Frau

Italian furniture company Poltrona Frau has teamed up with Ferrari’s design team for a new office chair, celebrating the 70th anniversary of the Maranello carmaker.

Shown at Milan design week, the “Cockpit” chair takes its cues from the driver’s seat of Ferrari sports cars. It was conceived and designed by Ferrari’s design team overseen by Flavio Manzoni, which designed the recent Ferrari models, such as the LaFerrari Aperta, the GTC4Lusso and the 812 Superfast.

It comes in two styles: the President which features a higher backrest based on racing seats that offers generous support for the top half of the body, while the Executive boasts a notable scoop-shape and has more lower support to ensure freedom of movement. The upholstering materials are the same as those found in Ferrari’s cars, and its cast aluminium spoked base also resembles the mechanisms found in Ferrari’s steering wheels.
