Japanese driver Ryo Hirakawa will field a new LC500 in this year’s Super GT season for team Lexus Team KeePer TOM’S, alongside New Zealand’s Nick Cassidy. The #37 LC500 is an upgraded version of the RC F model which has been used since 2014 and will be sporting a striking Red Bull livery this season.

Hirakawa finished ninth in the 2016 championship, partnered with Briton James Rossiter, while Cassidy, who finished on the 2015 F3 Macau podium in 2015, claimed fifth teamed with Daisuke Ito in his full series debut last year. The duo will compete against the other 14 teams in the GT500 class, which gets underway on April 9 at the Okayama International Circuit – the first of eight races through until November 12.

The new Super GT season will kick off at Okayama from April 8-9.
