New Track-Focused Chapter
2020 Lexus RC F Track Edition

Lexus probably isn’t one of the marques that comes to mind when looking for a track-focused car. However, at the Detroit auto show, Toyota’s luxury brand has brought along an all-new addition to the lineup to demonstrate their technology for track-focused cars. It is a limited production RC F Track Edition along with the facelift 2020 RC F for serious drivers.

The RC F Track Edition features a suite of new carbon fibre body parts for both improving aero and reducing weight. It includes a unique front splitter with canards, a fixed rear wing, roof, bonnet, partition behind the rear seats and bumper reinforcement. The exhaust system is made of titanium, which again helps shedding weight as well as offers a unique sound. Other special pieces include 19-inch BBS forged wheels and Brembo carbon ceramic brake discs that improve track performance and longevity. All together, an impressive 176 pounds have been shaved compared to the previous RC F.

The Track Edition uses the same 472hp, normally aspirated 5.0-litre V8 found in the standard 2020 RC F but it’s paired with the new electronic launch control system. The new set up enables the Track Edition to accelerate from 0-to-60 mph in 3.96 seconds.

There will only be two colour options for the RC F Track Edition — Ultra White and Nebula Matte Grey. Production is scheduled to start in March.
