New Rebel
Vanguard Roadster

A new motorcycle brand has introduced its first bike to the world at the New York Motorcycle Show. Vanguard Motorcycles is the brainchild of designer Edward Jacobs and serial entrepreneur Francois-Xavier Terny, both ex-Confederate Motorcycles, and their debut model out of the three motorcycles planned is the Vanguard Roadster.

It is not an exaggeration to call the Vanguard Roadster forward-thinking; it boasts a tonne of unique features including a frameless structural 1917 cc engine, unitized crankcase, integrated exhaust and a tablet-sized digital dashboard supported by a rear-view camera that also functions as rear-mirrors. The Vanguard’s assembly hub is located at the Brooklyn Navy Yard, New York City. The construction is based on large sub-assemblies and parts will be sourced and supported by key motorcycle vendors from all over the world.

The price is set at US$29,995 and production is slated for 2018. The New York Motorcycle Show took place on 9 to 11 December at the Javits Center in Manhattan.
