A new racing sim has just launched on Playstation 4 and Xbox One, offering gamers the chance to get in on some GT3 championship action. Assetto Corsa Competizione is the latest title from Italian studio Kunos Simulazioni, and it allows gamers to compete against official drivers, teams and cars, on international circuits accurately reproduced in-game.
For any driving sim, it’s crucial that the developer can successfully recreate the actual feeling and experience of racing with realistic driving physics. Built using Unreal Engine 4, Assetto Corsa Competizione factors in key details such as tyre material, suspension, aerodynamics, and engine specifications, all of which contribute to real-time feedback for the player. The car sounds are also worth a mention, having been put together via real multi-track recordings.
The launch bundle edition comes with the Intercontinental GT Pack DLC, featuring four additional iconic circuits: Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit in South Africa, Suzuka Circuit in Japan, Weathertech Raceway Laguna Seca in the USA, and Mount Panorama in Australia. With over 45 race car styles, 30 teams, 50 drivers, and the new Intercontinental GT Challenge mode, racing sim fans should be kept busy for quite a while.
