Naturally Made
Komorebi natural light system

When purchasing for an apartment or renting an office, having ample natural daylight is probably one of the key requirements for most people. Sadly, that’s not always possible, especially in big cities where buildings tend to be packed together and space and sunlight are both scarce. This is why innovative design engineer Leslie Nooteboom came up with Komorebi.

Komorebi is a Japanese word that refers to “sunlight filtering through trees.“ The product aims to let users curate natural lighting experiences indoors and is programmable, meaning the shape and position of the mimicked daylight as well as the way it interacts with the surrounding environment can be changed. There are three parts of Komorebi: a dynamic projector, a platform where people can upload their preferred light experience to be inserted into their living space, and the projection itself.  Thanks to the code-based nature of the artificial light, the result is generative, dynamic and not 100% guaranteed, which is exactly what you get with nature.
