There aren’t many of us who can concentrate and stay focused on everyday objects the same way Mauricio Alejo does. He has spent more than ten years taking photographs of them, and by making his home the background of the photoshoots – everything from the bathroom to the kitchen, when an idea pops up, the ‘experiment’ can start right away. Through the lens of Mauricio Alejo, books, tape, clotheslines or even a loaf of bread can set aside their functionality and become the focus of the photograph, conveying his thoughts and concepts towards space and time.
