Hublot Big Bang Bavaria

High-end watchmaking from Switzerland and traditional leather craftsmanship from Germany are two separate streams of art, but the Hublot Big Bang Bavaria watch has brought the two together.

This is special and rare collaboration between luxury watch brand Hublot from Jura “Watch Valley”, Switzerland and hiking footwear maker Meindl from Bavaria, Germany. Just launched in time for Germany’s Oktoberfest, the special edition Big Bang watch features a case made of bronze, a popular material in recent years, finished with a natural patina. The strap is made of deer leather tanned using an age-old technique which takes 3 to 4 months to complete. Once treated and cut, the hide is then hand-embroidered with a pattern only possible to create on deer leather, and finally put together using the renowned Meindl hand sewing technique. The strap is guaranteed to be as durable as Meindl hiking boots.

Like other Big Bang watches, the Big Bang Bavaria is delivered with straps under the “One Click” attachment system so that wearer can easily change the strap according to their style or the occasion. One of the straps is in natural light brown deer leather with two leather tabs embroidered with a deer head. The other strap comes in “altsalzburg” (black-brown) deer leather and is embroidered with oak leaves. The Big Bang Bavaria is equipped with UNICO, a Hublot manufactured self-winding bidirectional movement with a flyback chronograph and a column wheel on the side of the dial. The movement is composed of 330 components and has a power reserve of 72 hours.
