More Than Just Books
Newbern Library

In the small town of Newbern in the United States, the local library does not only serve as a library, but also a social centre in the community.

Designed in a simple and modern way, this library was once a bank building, first built in 1906, until fifth-year architecture students at Auburn University converted it into what it is today. Having wood and white colouring as the main tone, pine flooring remains and large windows are at both sides to invite more sunlight into the space, making it cosy and warm. If you do not like to read indoors, then you’ll find the courtyard a very attractive proposition; just take a walk and enjoy some tranquil reading time of your own.
