More carbon fibre than ever
McLaren Special Operations P1 & 675LT Spider

As with all renowned carmakers, McLaren is preparing to stage at this year’s Geneva Motor Show. For their fourth presence they are going to showcase the largest range of models from the full line-up. Two models from the independent British sports car brand catch our attention in the preview. The McLaren Special Operations version of P1 is simply beau. The brand bid farewell to the model last December and for this tribute version, it is presented with a full visual carbon fibre body which has been hand-laid, with a bespoke ‘Lio Blue’ tinted lacquer. Other stunning features include gloss black wheels, black Alcantara interior trim with blue stitching and a 24-carat gold exhaust heatshield paying homage to the McLaren F1.

675LT Spider is also debuting at the show but all of its 500 examples are already sold. The one-off example specially made for the show features added carbon fibre and Ceramic Grey paint from the MSO Defined range. The satin carbon fibre retractable hardtop can be operated at speed of up to 40 km/h. The front wings include carbon fibre louvres and the ‘Longtail’ Airbrake is finished in body colour on top, while many body parts are also finished in visual carbon. It also has a 24-carat gold heatshield like MSO P1 but it features a titanium exhaust system.
