Kode 0 by Ken Okuyama

As the designer responsible for the Ferrari Enzo, Maserati Quattroporte and many other projects at that level, any new creation of Ken Okuyama is worth paying attention to. The Japanese designer has just created the new one-off supercar Kode 0, which debuted at The Quail Motor Sport Gathering, following up last year’s Kode 57 at the same event.

The Kode 0 concept revives the perfect dream cars of the 1970s, such as the Lancia Stratos Zero, Lamborghini Countach and Ferrari Moduro, and pair it with the advanced technologies of the modern day. Citing legendary designer Marcello Gandini as an inspiration, Kode 0’s retro futuristic appearance is defined by the wedge-shaped design with low sharp nose and multi-layered LED headlights. Mesh-covered vents at the rear allow viewing of the metallic green fans inside. Green accents can also be found in the interior including the inside of the gullwing doors.

Kode 0 is relatively lightweight thanks to the carbon fibre monocoque based on the current Lamborghini Aventador and carbon fibre body panels, weighing just 1,550 kg. The car features a 6.5-litre naturally aspirated V12 engine outputting 690 hp maximum, and can accelerate from standstill to 100 km/h in just 2.9 seconds.
