McLaren 570S M2B Edition

McLaren celebrated the 50th anniversary of their first Formula 1 race, at the 1966 Monaco Grand Prix, with the launch a special edition 570S at the same iconic venue. This latest model is a tribute to the racing team’s 1966 M2B, built by founder Bruce McLaren and his mechanics three years after the company’s establishment. Although it didn’t win on its debut, the M2B set the tone for the marque, and the rest is history.

Back to 2016, the McLaren 570S M2B Edition shares the same distinctiveness as its spiritual predecessor. Its livery commemorates the original M2B, with white paintwork highlighted by a green central stripe and silver edging, while the ultra lightweight carbon fibre MonoCell II, carbon-ceramic brakes and Brake Steer technology are all derived from McLaren’s potent track day machines. Further, its engine matches the latest 570S specifications: the 3.8-litre twin turbo V8 generating 562 hp; 0-100 km/h takes only 3.2 seconds, with a top speed of 328 km/h. While McLaren has yet to announce its marketing plan, there is no doubt that the marque’s loyal fans would love to slip into this rendition of the brand’s original racing chassis.
