Meeting The Original
Lego Audi Sport Quattro S1 "Pikes Peak” meets the actual car

When a Lego and Audi enthusiast decided to build a model car using brick pieces, the least he could have thought was being invited to the meet the real car at Audi mobile museum in Ingolstadt, but this has just happened to Thomas Enders, the builder of the LEGO 1987 Audi Sport Quattro S1 “Pikes Peak”.

Enders fell in love with the original car when he was 12 or 13 years old. He bought his first car magazine back then and it featured the standard Audi Sport Quattro. Then there was the S1 with huge front and rear spoilers driven by Walter Röhrl for conquering Pikes Peak. Nowadays the winning car is sitting in the Audi museum in Ingolstadt, and the team at Audi Tradition just invited Enders to bring along his LEGO version for a big reunion.

Although Enders only used simple bricks instead of the Technic pieces and the model car is quite small, around palm size, when the two S1s are put next to each other you can see what a magic piece of work Enders has created. The project has been submitted to Lego Ideas and if it gets 10,000 supports then Lego will considering releasing it officially. Hopefully the recognition from the marque will bring some popularity to the project.
