Magic Transformation
Willy Izaguirre’s 1973 BMW E9 CS

When Willy Izaguirre first got his hands on this vintage BMW E9 CS, it was in a worn-out state, far from what you see here, but Izaguirre put in the hard yards and the car recently won the Best Euro Car title at the 2017 SEMA show.

For the transformation, Izaguirre kept very little of the BMW coupe, with just the main body design and chrome trim remain from the original. Fibreglass panels and spoilers were added and special attention was paid to the wheel arches for a more aggressive look, making the car seven feet wide. The matching BBS wheels are 9.5 and 15.5 inches wide for the front and rear respectively.

The original engine has been replaced too. Now under the hood is a straight-six obtained from a 1998 BMW E36 M3. The ZF five-speed transmission is also from the same model. Supported by a turbocharger the engine now produces over 500 hp.
