Keen Uneekbot Hong Kong Tour

American footwear brand Keen finally brought the Uneekbot – the world’s smallest shoe factory with automated arms – to Hong Kong. Over the weekend at Keen’s pop-up store inside The One in Tsim Sha Tsui, the Uneekbot demonstrated the process of creating pairs of Uneek, the signature sandal featuring a minimalistic two-cord design that combines the lightweight upper and the sole.

Keen’s Innovation Director and Uneek creator Rory Fuerst, Jr., together with the brand’sBusiness Director of Asia Pacific Joe Colistro and General Manager of Japan Naoji Takeda, also paid a special visit to the  popup store to share the creative process of the two Uneek Hong Kong editions, while the performance of Rapper JB and live DJ sessions kept the vibe alive over the weekend.

Paying tribute to the red-white-blue nylon bag originated in Hong Kong, both colourways of the Hong Kong editions feature this signature combination paired with either black or grey. While Uneekbot handles part of the shoemaking process, each pair of Uneek is completed by the hands of craftsmen to make sure all the details are taken care of.
