A few companies have made mention of offering packages for space travel in the near future, such as Richard Branson’s Virgin Galactic and Elon Musk’s SpaceX, but the latest space travelling package announced by Orion Span is the biggest to date.

Orion Span envisions that in 2022, the first luxury hotel in space, Aurora Station, will be opening its doors. The fully modular space station will accommodate maximum four guests, with two crew members offering assistance for the 12-day journey. ​At an altitude of 200 miles above the earth, travelers will witness an orbit every 90 minutes and enjoy multiple sunrises and sunsets. Guests can expect to be floating around inside the hotel under zero gravity and viewing the aurora borealis, and if they wish to, grow food in space and participate in real space research.

The once in a life time experience does come with a huge price tag. At US$ 9.5 million, the package includes a three-month astronaut training period prior to the journey and transportation to and from the Aurora Station.
