Liquid Display HYT H3

Exclusive portrayal system

The H3’s central part is used for time display, yet, there are neither hands, nor satellite nor any other previously used time-reading system. Instead, HYT has created a rotating dial with four-faces arranged along the liquid time display tube. Each of the faces is graduated  with six hours, so that altogether, they display 24-hours of the day.

In order to ensure a linear progression between each hour, the brand has developed an exclusive movement, where its complex function rotates the dial itself so its section displays the current time. As the other three faces are not visible, whenever the end of a six-hour period is reached, the retrograde movement is initiated and the dial starts automatically on its controlled rotation, enabling the time display to semi-instantaneously jump back to the start on the left. When the liquid’s retrograde movement starts, the energy stored in the bellows is used by the calibre to power the movement of the hour dial.

The H3 has a push-button located on the left for the user to set the time. Every time it is pressed, the central time display bar turns by a quarter of a full turn on its own. This intricate design, thus allows the assembly to be quickly adjusted in periods of six hours. The exact hour and minutes within this period can then be simply adjusted by twisting the crown.

The two barrels reserve 170-hours of power for the watch, which is equivalent to around 7 days. Produced in charcoal prey PBD-coated titanium and platinum, the series is limited to 25 pieces only, and the first timepiece will be available from September, 2015.
