In November 2013, with Ann Demeulemeester sent a handwritten letter to the press, announcing her departure from the label that she founded in 1986, her role was taken by the artistic director Sébastien Meunier and the design team. Soon after the announcement of Demeulemeester, Sébastien Meunier showcased his first Spring/Summer menswear collection for the Belgian brand. Retaining the dark romantic spirit of the brand, and staying true to the founder’s influence to the design, it resulted in a collection that features those classical elements that stated Ann Demeulemeester’s point of view as a designer.
