Let The Photographs Speak For Themselves
National Geographic Traveller (UK) Photography Competition 2018 announces its winners

National Geographic Traveller (UK) Grand Prize Winner of its 2018 Photography Competition is Renato Granieri from South Georgia who managed to capture a touching moment between two penguins.

“I was walking through a vast colony of king penguins in South Georgia, looking for inspiration. I decided to focus on intimate behaviour, so I sat on the snow and waited patiently,” says Graieri. “Two of the penguins came within a few feet of me, and I soon realised I had the opportunity I was looking for. I took a few shots before the pair started chasing each other and disappeared into the throng.”

Other category winning photographers included Daniel Burton – Elements; John White – Urban; Simon Morris – People and Stuart Dunn in the Action category. Meanwhile, a video shot by Timur Tugalev dubbed “Lost in Cuba” was named the winner in the Travel Video section.

The winning photos will be featured in the April 2018 issue of National Geographic Traveller (UK).
