The Volvo S60 and V60 Polestar are two somewhat hidden gems posing as everyday cars. The fact that they look almost identical to the regular series Volvo sedans and wagons could be an advantage to the low-key types. The latest models feature the Drive-E 2.0-litre 4-cylinder engine instead of the 3.0-litre 6-cylinder unit from last year’s models but now produce more power at 367 hp.

Volvo has included a bigger turbo, new con-rods, new camshafts, a larger air intake and a higher capacity fuel pump for creating the extra power. The all-wheel drive system stays for the latest update. The vehicles now use the new Polestar-optimised eight-speed automatic gearbox and weigh 44 lbs less than their predecessors. The S60 and V60 Polestar are available in 47 markets and the production units are doubled, but we are talking about only 1,500 units worldwide so Polestar devotees will have to act fast.
