King of Acceleration
Tesla Model S P100D

Tesla has just introduced their latest version of Model S, the P100D, which with Ludicrous mode would be the third fastest accelerating production car in history by achieving a 0-60 mph time of 2.5 seconds, coming after the LaFerrari and Porsche 918 Spyder.

It’s worth mentioning that although they are faster, both of these cars are extremely expensive, limited two-seaters with little space for luggage, while the Model S P100D is a pure electric all-wheel drive with four doors, seats five adults plus two children and provides generous cargo capacity. The larger 100 kWh battery inside even increases its range to 613 km, making it the longest range electric vehicle ever produced.

This larger battery pack is available for the Model X too, which could make the world’s fastest SUV even faster. With Ludicrous mode it is able to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 2.9 seconds, and run for a range of 542 km on a single charge. This pure electric SUV could seat up to seven adults.
