Founded by British automotive designer Matthew Humphries, Matthew Humphries Design (MHD) is an emerging watch brand that produces automotive-themed driving watches. Its latest offering, the “MHD AGT”, is a special-edition watch created in association with British Electric Car Company, Alcraft Motor Company, and its first car, the GT.

The AGT timepiece echoes the same design aesthetics as the Alcraft GT. The Miyota 9015 automatic movement-powered timepiece features a 42mm diameter, and a four-piece layered stainless steel exoskeleton case that’s topped with resilient, scratch-resistant sapphire crystal bevel-edged glass. Further, the crown and case layers are adorned with beautiful automotive-style knurled and polished chamfered-edge finishes.

The automotive influence continues throughout the three-piece dial, from the brushed finished chapter ring to the machine-turned, steel coloured sunray dial with laser cut markers. The watch also features the letters of “GBD” on the dial face, which means “Great British Design”, an ethos that represents MHD.
