Falcon 9 Rocket Chandelier

The Falcon 9 rocket chandelier, at a glance, just looks like any other modern style lighting, but if you happen to be a science nerd then you may recognise its appearance is the similar to SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket.

Designer Andrew McCalip was once an intern at SpaceX and not surprisingly he is into rocket-related matters. On the website McCalip claims that the chandelier is built by robots. What he really means is that the chandelier is produced using 3D printing. Two material options are available. The first is made of glass fibre reinforced polycarbonate that producesa nice gong sound when struck. The other version is made of PPS combined with 50% carbon fibre by weight. It is the highest strength 3D printed material to date and sounds like metal when struck.
