Although you might not love the drawing style of young designer Filip Hodas from Prague, you would agree that he is a hard-working designer with a lot of potential. He works on daily renderings as practice through different kinds of design programs including Octane, World Machine and Cinema 4D. He often turns his images into printed products on Society6, and his Instagram following has increased in huge numbers with him uploading animations too.

Hodas has combined the aspects of nature and artifice in most of his work; landscapes of snow fields, mountains and deserts are filled with 3D geometric shapes, creating surreal visual effects. These artworks are mysterious, hinting possible intervention by alien forces. While looking paradoxical, they elicit our imagination towards the future.

His latest artworks are themed around pop-culture with many classic themes, for instance PlayStation, Hello Kitty, Super Mushroom in Super Mario Bros, Pac-Man, the Happy Meal of McDonald’s, Space Invaders and Coca-Cola. In these works, they all appear to be old, broken and found in ruins, as if they are set in some kind of dark future in a parallel universe.
