Hydrogen-Powered Le Mans Racer
GreenGT LMPH2G

The organisation behind  the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the Automobile Club de l’Ouest (AOC), is committed to promoting and developing hydrogen-powered vehicles and hopefully such race cars could join Le Mans in 2024. AOC has teamed up with Swiss specialist GreenGT for the Mission H24 project, and brought the hydrogen-powered racing car on track during the European Le Mans Series at Spa-Francorchamps earlier in September.

Named GreenGT LMPH2G, the hydrogen-powered car was driven by by four-time Le Mans winner Yannick Dalmas, who is also an advisor to AOC, for a few demonstration laps. The car is based upon an ADESS LMP3 chassis, and features two electric motors on each rear wheel, with the electricity generated through the hydrogen fuel cell. The powertrain can deliver 653 hp combined, pushing the vehicle to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 3.4 second and reach a top speed of 300 km/h. GreenGT LMPH2G is still under development and the project will be brought to different parts of  the world and updated regularly.
