How Glow Can You Go
1961 Land Rover Series IIA “Slammed Rover”

The Land Rover Series IIA was designed as a practical SUV when launched, but the version shown here is a far cry from the original look. Altered by the team behind the Goblin Works Garage TV series, this modernised Land Rover keeps a few of its heritage touches.

The engine and brakes specifications come from the Rover’s last restoration, while the Goblin Works Garage team gave the SUV a new radiator and gearbox, and lowered the chassis. They stripped off the original body paint while keeping the patina and covered the bare aluminium with a lacquered finish complete with details such as brass rivets, leather bonnet straps, side exhausts and new wheels. Handmade aircraft-inspired aluminium bucket seats each fitted with brown leather bases and a four-point harness make this one-off Rover one to remember.
