ePrix Kickoff
2016/17 FIA Formula E Championship

The 2016-2017 FIA Formula E Championship will kick off with the HKT Hong Kong ePrix, October 9. The significance of Hong Kong’s participation is two-fold: the city will be the opening round of 14 international championship ePrixs and it’s the first time Hong Kong has hosted an FIA -sanctioned car racing event on its bustling streets.

This is the third season of FIA Formula E Championship, the world’s first zero-emissions totally electric auto racing series. Besides Hong Kong, this season’s calendar includes 11 other iconic cities around the world, including the first-time ePrixs in Marrakech, Brussels and Montreal before ending the season with calendar newcomer New York on July 29-30, 2017. Changes for this season include the bold new look of the cars’ impressive new front wing that adds a more futuristic vibe and visually separates Formula E from other traditional racing series. Formula E  continues to promote the values of energy conservation, clean environments and unique entertainment, aiming to attract more than just auto racing fans. The teams are conducting pre-season testing at England’s Donington Park on August 23rd and if you are lucky enough to be in the vicinity, sneak a glance at the zero-emission future of auto racing.
