Highly Recognised Beauty
1939 Alfa Romeo 8C 2900B Touring Berlinetta

Having won the grand prize from Pebble Beach Concours d’Élégance in the United States and Villa d’Este in Italy, there is no question on the beauty of Alfa Romeo 8C 2900B Touring Berlinetta. This pre-war model is highly sought after as only five examples were built, but one example will be available for auction in the upcoming Salon Retromobile which takes place in Paris February 2019.

The 8C 2900 was based on the 8C 35 Grand Prix car and initially designed for racing. This particular example was one of the five examples of the berlinetta version, featuring an elegant body crafted by Italian coachbuilder Touring. Delivered new in 1939 and shipped to England in the same year, this example only had four owners. The current owner witnessed his father purchasing it in 1976 and the car has remained within the family since then. Beauty does come with a great price, organiser of the sales Artcurial has given an estimate of 16 to 22 million Euros.
