Hermès “In the Pocket” Watch
A one-of-a-kind piece from the luxury house.

In 1912, Jacqueline Hermès, an avid horsewoman, was gifted a porte-oignon by her father. This allowed her to fasten her pocket watch to her wrist while she rode, making the piece both functional and beautiful. A century later, this one-of-a-kind leather watch bracelet design inspired Hermès’ “In The Pocket” watch, which will be made available at the Only Watch charity auction on November 7.

Originally re-designed and released in 2012, the piece returns with a rare combination of a rose gold case, black dial and H red Swift calfskin holster. The watch itself is 40mm in diameter, with a subsidiary seconds dial at 4 o’clock and a caliber H1837 automatic movement made in-house with 28 jewels. For a glimpse of the equally beautiful, but perhaps less exclusive timepieces also making an appearance at the auction, be sure to visit the Phillips Watches website.
