MINI unveils the classic Mini Electric

At the New York International Auto Show 2018, MINI unveiled its latest creation, a classic Mini Electric model.

Combining the historic look of a red Mini Cooper with cutting-edge drive technology for urban mobility in the future, the classic Mini Electric does not only demonstrate the British car manufacturer’s commitment in retaining its iconic personality while embracing advanced zero local emissions technology, it also serves as a preview of the production version of the MINI Electric Concept that was announced at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show, and paves the way for Mini’s first all-electric vehicle which will be unveiled in 2019 – just in time for the 60th anniversary of the classic Mini.

Sadly, this classic Mini is a one-off project done for fun and it’s not something you can actually buy. Meanwhile, the fully electric production vehicle is currently in development, based on the MINI 3 Door, and will be produced for the first time at the MINI plant in Oxford next year.
