Greatness In Smallest Of Details
Motif Collection by PULL+PUSH

After graduating from the architectural school of Kyoto Seika University, Nobuhiro Sato started his own brand, PULL+PUSH, in 2002. The PULL+PUSH Motif Collection is a product series made from mortar, which are in the shape of buildings and used incense pots and planters. In order to have a richer texture, the team do not try to fix the uneven colours and the bubbles created during the production process. The final products are replicas of actual buildings in every aspect, bar physical size of course.

The three houses, small incinerator and the old house are all incense burners, when you place the incense inside, smoke flows slowly and steadily from the chimney, filling the space with pleasant smell.

Originating from the Japanese word “Kiso”, meaning the foundation of a building, the ashtray is shaped exactly as the name suggests. Dividing in to three rooms, it is an ashtray for smokers, as well as a tray for accessories or stationery like paperclips.

The mansion planter is a house without a rooftop. When the plant is growing, you can always sneak a peek through the door or windows, and watch them becoming a green, natural rooftop. It does not matter if you place this mansion inside the house or the garden, its pure existence will produce a sense of restfulness.

The bricks and mortar, time and devotion of an architect, sweat and hard work of the workers constructing a building can all be found on these miniature masterpieces. Apart from the dedication of the designer, skills and techniques of craftsmen, it takes four to five months to finish a single product.

If you happen to be passing by the K11 mall anytime within the next two months, you can check out the Motif Collection in the OKURA pop-up store located on the first floor.
