It’s a nice surprise to see Toyota unveiling the GR HV Sports concept car in Tokyo Motor Show in an almost production-ready form. The concept car takes inspiration from the TS050 Hybrid that competes in the World Endurance Championship. Even the powertrain on board, the THS-R (Toyota Hybrid System-Racing), uses technology derived from the TS050 Hybrid.

The sports concept has a stealthy matte black body and aggressive features including LED headlights, aluminium wheels and a rear diffuser similar to the TS050 Hybrid race car. The targa top links to the automaker’s signature sports cars like the classic Sports 800 and Supra. The interior once again references the ambience of race cars, with switches for selecting the automatic gear position located in the dashboard.
