Heuer Globetrotter

With over 150 years of history in watchmaking, it is not surprising that TAG Heuer has many fanatic collectors globally. This year the brand has decided to collaborate with watch collectors in different cities to present different sides of the brand’s history to the public.

Titled Heuer Globetrotter, 10 TAU Heuer stores in different cities are participating and each city will have a specific theme within the exhibition: Paris – the classic Heuers; Geneva – the major inventions; Munich – the military watches; Venice – cars and timekeeping; Dubai – sailing and diving; Singapore – Formula 1; Hong Kong – cars and drivers; Sydney – multisports, Tokyo – design through history and Miami – design.

Hong Kong’s Heuer Globetrotter exhibition will be held at TAG Heuer boutique in Ocean Terminal, Harbour City in Tsim Sha Tsui from 16th to 30th September 2017. The pieces loaned by local collector Nick Gatehouse are spanning through the glorious years of motor racing from 1950 to 1979, including the Heuer Carrera from Indianapolis Special Edition, the Autavia worn by legendary racer Mario Andretti in 1960s, the Heuer Monaco worn by actor and racer Steve McQueen, the Easy Rider featuring Belgian driver Jacky Ickx’s name and signature on the dial, and the Monza launched to celebrate Austrian racer Niki Lauda winning the F1 World Drivers’ Champion for the first time.
