Daniel Arsham creates a cast plaster Panasonic radio sculpture

Continuing his ongoing ‘Future Relic’ art series, American contemporary artist Daniel Arsham has graced us with his latest creation, ‘Future Relic 08’, a cast plaster vintage Panasonic radio sculpture “excavated” in the year of 2054. The sculpture will be available for purchase on Daniel Arsham’s website September 8, and limited to 500 units.

From the beginning, Arsham stated there would only be nine future relics. Having previously released a cassette player, a Polaroid camera and a Sony walkman, this vintage Panasonic radio is the next to last one in the series, which will also be linked with a longer film project that he has been working on over the last couple of years. The artist says that the extensive film project will coincide with the launch of  ‘Future Relic 09’ slated for release sometime next year, and will feature Moonlight actor Mahershala Ali and acclaimed actress Juliette Lewis.
