Lamborghini has collaborated with IED Barcelona and offered a challenge to the institution’s students from the Undergraduate Degree in Transportation Design. Representatives from the automaker briefed the students to create concepts for 2035 that maintain the Italian company’s style and values. At the same time, these concepts should be complemented by a second object, whether it is a vehicle or not, for bringing new functionality to the driving experience.

At the end of the three month collaboration period, six proposals were developed after studying  the needs of future users and clients of Lamborghini. There are concepts merging a sports car and a hydroplane all running on sustainable plasma engine, featuring built-in parametric fabrics connecting to the emotional state of the driver, or planned for conquering the dunes of future Dubai with an off-road setup. One of them can even turn into an aircraft to avoid traffic congestion. Another student selected to create a more neutral silhouette for overcoming the gender conventionalities associated with sports cars. All of these concepts have demonstrated the vision and passion of the new generation of automotive professionals that the industry is anticipating.
