Fully Electric Hydrofoil
Edorado 7S Powerboat

The Edorado 7S hydrofoil, recently unveiled by Edorado Marine is a breakthrough in the world of powerboating. After two years of design, market research and product development, the completely electric powerboat not only produces zero emissions but its hydrofoil design enables the craft to maintain speed and stability regardless of surface conditions.

Hydrofoils are wing-like blades that usually sit underneath a boat’s hull on struts. They cut through the water as the boat speeds up, creating an uplift while reducing drag – similar to an airplane’s wings. According to the Edorado design team, its advanced hydrofoil design helps boost the maximum speed to 40 knots.

The Edorado 7S utilises a rechargeable battery to power two motors that drive the twin propellers at the rear. The company says that with an 80-kilometre range on a single charge and a cruising speed of around 25 knots (45 kilometres per hour) the Edorado 7S is poised to attract environmentally conscious boating enthusiasts.
