Technoimpulse Rocket Z

Russia-made vehicles are seldom on our radar. For Technoimpulse’s Rocket Z, though, it has a slight military appearance that is still suitable for bringing it onto rugged roads.

The boxy 4×4 is of similar length as a Land Rover Discovery, but with the extremely short overhangs it offers 52-degree approach and departure angles. The cabin seats up to 8 passengers, and the benches can be transformed into a large bed so it would be handy for an overnight trip. The SUV is powered by a Hyundai-sourced 2.5-litre mid-mounted diesel engine in two versions. The advanced version generates 99 hp and 230 Nm, paired with full-time four-wheel drive system, five-speed manual gearbox and locking differentials. The two 100-litre fuel tanks and the Hella lights on the roof would help those long drives in the wilderness. There are also an onboard inflation system as well as a winch, just in case for the occasional emergency.
