Luxury fashion retailer Joyce has collaborated with toy-art boutique and culture connoisseur kkplus to launch an epic trunk show titled Big Boys Club. Dedicated to street culture, the trunk show is happening right now and showcases rare and limited edition toys that cross the boundary between high and low culture and bring a smile to the inner child.
A highlight of the trunk show is the very first release of a Mr. Pop sculpture in chromed silver. Created by Basel street artist BustArt and partner STREAMS in collaboration with kkplus, this one and only example of the 120 cm tall chromed silver Mr. Pop sculpture is available only at Joyce Central, while the 70 cm version is limited to 15 pieces.
Brazilian furniture designers Fernando and Humberto Campana are launching their retrospective new book Irmãos Campana: 35 Revoluções, which includes their essential works crafted over the last 35 years. The Campana Bros’ Mickey Mouse-themed ping pong table set, cushion, mirror, and rug are available specially for the trunk show.
Also available are the familiar Super Professional figures, now in exclusive Golden Flower edition, as well as made-to-order Lego Bearbrickk+ in three unique styles. Additionally, there will be a silkscreen printing workshop on 24 April which allows participants to create a bespoke skateboard chair and matching tote bag featuring the silhouette of Mr. Pop.
The Big Boys Club trunk show runs until 5 May at Joyce Central boutique.
