For A Good Cause
2017 Mercedes-AMG GT3 Laureus

For the coming Monterey week, Mercedes will put up a special racing supercar with zero mileage for auction through RM Sotheby’s. The proceeds will benefit the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation, which supports projects for children in all over the world and was co-founded by Daimler.

The Mercedes-AMG GT3 Laureus was built to celebrate the 50th anniversary of AMG and maintains the brand’s motorsport spirit. This one-off edition has never been raced, and features unique paintwork in chrome with mirror reflection and Laureus logo in exposed carbon fibre on the doors. Indeed the special car has plenty of exposed carbon fibre parts, including the front and rear diffusers, rear wings, hood louvres and radiator grille. The exposed carbon also makes its way inside cabin and paired with matte black paintwork on the chassis.

The GT3 Laureus is fitted with a 6.3-litre V8 high-revving naturally aspirated engine paired with the six-speed competition gearbox, and is able to output 650 hp without FIA homologation. The performance exhaust system does not have mufflers so you can expect a nice roar from it. The race car is offered without reserve and is expected to reach anywhere US$ 400,000 to 600,000.
