ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) is a familiar name for powerful PCs, but its phones are the choice of many gamers too. The latest generation, ROG Phone 6 series, is set to build the line’s reputation even further.
Speed is probably the most important attribute when selecting a gaming phone. The ROG Phone 6 series is powered by the latest flagship Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 Mobile Platform with up to 3.2 GHz CPU clock speeds. The ROG Phone 6 is equipped with 16 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 512 GB of storage, and the more advanced ROG Phone 6 Pro is backed by 18 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 512 GB of storage. The 6000 mAh battery capacity offers extended battery life for long game sessions, while the 360° CPU cooling technology to make sure maximum performance can be sustained.
The 6.78-inch Samsung AMOLED HDR10+ display is exclusively tuned with ROG technology, enabling a remarkable 165 Hz refresh rate and 23 ms ultra-low touch latency. There is an extra full-coloured ROG Vision mini display on the back of the ROG Phone 6 Pro. As for the sound, The GameFX audio system is optimised with Dirac Virtuo on both Phone 6 and Phone 6 Pro for truly balanced and immersive stereo sound effects, and can be delivered via most headphones thanks to the 3.5 mm jack. While photography is not a major selling point for the gaming phones, they are equipped with a triple-camera system featuring the flagship Sony IMX766 50 MP as the main wide-angle camera.
For hardcore gamers, the clip-on AeroActive Cooler 6 is an essential add-on. Featuring an AI-powered thermoelectric cooler and a fan, it helps further lowering the phone’s temperature by up to 25°C, while adding four extra physical buttons for a console-like gaming experience.
