First Virtual Prancing Horse
Ferrari Vision Gran Turismo

Although other top automakers like Aston Martin, Bugatti, McLaren, and more have long been creating incredible concept cars for the Gran Turismo game franchise, it’s taken until now for Ferrari to jump on board and put together an amazing new digital machine. By all accounts, the wait for the Ferrari Vision Gran Turismo was worth it.

Maranello’s first Gran Turismo virtual concept is, as you’d expect, extremely futuristic in appearance. Yet, it still appropriately pays tribute to the marque’s racing traditions. For example, the number 75 on its flanks is a reference to Ferrari’s original race car, the 125 S, which was first produced 75 years ago in 1947.

The closed-wheel single-seater Vision concept is inspired by the iconic motorsport prototypes of the 1960s and 1970s such as the 330 P3 and the 512 S, and features bold geometric lines with prominent side pods, with aerodynamic features reminiscent of the latest Ferrari 499P Le Mans Hypercar.

The Vision Gran Turismo is powered by the same 3-litre V6 engine found on the new 499P, as well as the 296 GTB, 296 GTS, and 296 GT3, though it’s been uprated to deliver a whopping 1030 cv at 9,000 rpm. An additional 240 kW comes from three electric motors, technology that has filtering straight down from Ferrari’s efforts in Formula 1.

The Ferrari Vision Gran Turismo will be available to all Gran Turismo 7 players from 23 December. For those who want to get it before anyone else, try joining the in-game campaign quiz, as the winner will receive the new car earlier on 15 December. A full-scale design study of the concept will also be on display at the Ferrari Museum in Maranello until March 2023.
