Sgnl Smart Strap

Following the launch of the Apple Watch, the market has quickly become much more accepting of smart watches. However, not everyone is willing to replace the traditional watch that they have worn for years with such technology. Innomdle Lab from Korea has developed a way for these cautious individuals to still benefit from such a smart system. Innomdle calls it the Sgnl smart watch band. Once it is worn on the wrist, the user can receive calls simply by pressing their finger on their ear.

The Sgnl looks similar to regular watch bands and features a lug adapter designed to be compatible all 18-4mm watch lugs. What makes the Signl unique is it’s a wearable preloaded BCU component (Body Conduction Unit), capable of transmitting vibrations through the body. Connected to the user’s smartphone via Bluetooth, Sgnl users can make or receive phone calls with their fingertip. No matter how noisy the surroundings, the user can still clearly hear the caller’s words by just touching their finger to their ear. With a built-in strap microphone, the user can stay in touch with friends and colleagues any time of the day. Sgnl also features other functions such as incoming call messaging and pedometer health tracking. With only an hour’s charge using the Micro USB interface, the Signl’s battery provides seven days of standby mode and four hours of talk time. The Signl has already reached its fund-raising target on Kickstarter. The product is scheduled to be delivered in February next year.
