A look back at 70 years of Ferrari
"Ferrari: Under the Skin" Exhibition at UK's Design Museum

As 2017 marks the 70th anniversary of Ferrari, London’s Design Museum has teamed up with Ferrari S.p.a. and Museo Ferrari, Maranello for a retrospective exhibition called Ferrari: Under the Skin, exploring the history and some of the most significant designs of the Italian carmaker.

There is £140M worth of Ferraris featured in the exhibition, including a 1947 125 S, 1950 166 MM, 1952 Ferrari 500 F2, 1957 250 GT Cabriolet, 1960 250 GT Berlinetta passo corto and many more. The exhibition also displays some of rarely seen material from private collections and brings together early design models, drawings, personal letters and memorabilia exhibited for the first time outside the Museo Ferrari in Maranello.

“The Ferrari story is truly one of the great adventure stories of the industrial age and I am very proud we are able to tell it at the Design Museum,” says Sir Terence Conran, founder of the Design Museum. “The depth of emotion goes far beyond the external beauty of their cars: what excites me so much about this exhibition is the rare opportunity to glimpse behind the scenes and experience the dynamic between engineering, manufacturing and design, which produces Ferrari’s magic ingredient.”

The exhibition runs through April 15, 2018.
