Its easy to believe this extremely detailed Lancia Stratos replica is an official Technics release from Lego, but in reality, it’s an incredible work by independent builder Peter Vercoelen, submitted to the Lego Ideas platform. If this project could ever become an actual product, I’m quite sure you and I would buy it immediately without even thinking for a second.

The model is in 1:8 scale, and in addition to its super realistic appearance, its main attraction is Lancia motorsport’s iconic Alitalia livery, with each luscious element created by Peter. Under the dazzling body is a full Technic Supercar chassis replicating the real Stratos’ drivetrain, complete with a working transverse mid-engine V6 connected to a four-speed transmission. The exquisite independent suspension and four-wheel drive details complement the inside cabin’s working steering wheel and pop-up headlights.

However, when I tried to visit the link on Lego Ideas to support the work, I found the page was removed, perhaps due to a licensing matter. It would be a shame to have a Stratos of this caliber lost to so many of its adoring fans.
