Rolls-Royce Cullinan officially unveiled

After months of teasing, the first ever SUV from Rolls-Royce has finally been revealed, and it could possibly be the most luxurious vehicle of its kind in the world.

Named after the world’s largest rough diamond, the Cullinan maintains “the world-famous ‘Magic Carpet Ride’ of Rolls-Royce” on all terrain, while at the same time being an engineering masterpiece. It was designed and engineered from scratch and meant to be scalable to the size and weight requirements of future Rolls-Royce models. The high body car is also the first ever all-wheel drive model in the brand’s history.

Under the hood is a 6.75-litre twin-turbo V12 engine that delivers 570 hp and 850 Nm, with maximum torque available at 1,600 rpm. Top speed is said to be limited to 250 km/h. As expected, the Cullinan is huge and it measures 5,341 mm long, 1835 mm tall and weighs 2,660 kg.

It is also supposedly the first three-box SUV in the world. Similar to a sedan, the luggage compartment is separated from the cabin, but what is more exciting is the Viewing Suite, offered as a bespoke option that includes a pair of seats and a cocktail table electrically deployed from the back of the SUV. An owner can also opt for the Recreation Module to customise the luggage compartment for supporting their favourite sport or activity.

The cabin design is dominated by wood and leather. The entire dashboard is protected by a leather pad, and the touch-sensitive central information screen enables quick navigation. A suite of assisting features such as Night Vision and Vision Assist, a 4-Camera system with Panoramic View, all-round visibility and helicopter view, Lane Departure and Lane Change Warning and more ensure safety is also well taken care of.
