Located on Fleming Road in Wan Chai, The Fleming debuted in 2006 and has just received a complete rebranding and redesign by Hong Kong design studio A Work Of Substance, as a hotel embracing Hong Kong culture.
Drawing inspiration from the iconic Star Ferry of Hong Kong, The Fleming employs the substantial use of dark green, velvet red, blue and white, making it rich in navy style. The rooms’ decor and furniture is mainly wood or copper, adding a taste of industrial-style too. One exceptional design feature is each room’s hallway occupancy indicator designed exactly like the Ferry’s engine control, showing your choice of “Do Not Disturb”, or “Clean My Room”.
While we know that The Fleming would never be able to reflect the whole picture of Hong Kong culture, it remains much more than just an ordinary place for tourists to stay.
